People who write dramas, also called plays, are known as “playwrights” or “dramatist”. Some popular types of drama include comedy tragedy, farce, opera and docudramas. Now, I'd like to tell you some popular types of drama.
Lighter in tone, comedies try to make the audience laugh and usually come to a happy ending. Comedies put unusual characters in special situations, causing them to do and say funny things. Comedies can also be sarcastic(讽刺的) in nature, creating fun at serious topics. There are also several different types of comedy, including romantic comedy, a comedy of manners, and tragic comedy-plays in which the characters take on tragedy with humor while bringing serious situations to happy endings.
Tragedy is based on darker themes. Generally, tragedies show serious subjects like death, disaster, and human suffering in a way that makes the audience think. Hardly enjoying happy endings, characters in tragedies, like Shakespeare's Hamlet, are often troubled by tragic character flaws(缺点) that finally lead to their death.
A farce is a type of drama in which characters overact and present physical humor. Examples of farce include the play Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett and the hit 1980 movie Airplane! written by David and Jery Zucker and Jim Abrahams.
Opera is a type of drama which combines theater, dialogue, music, and dance to tell stories of tragedy or comedy. Since characters express their feelings through singing rather than dialogue, performers must be both skilled actors and singers. The tragedy La bohème by Giacomo Puccini and the comedy Falstaff by Giuseppe Verdi are classic examples of opera.
A docudrama is a relatively new kind of drama. Docudramas talk about historic events or non-fictional situations. More often presented in movies and television than in live theater, popular examples of docudramas include the movies Apollo 13 and Twelve Years a Slave.

Understand your directional future, and plan ahead, but most of all plan a life which is full of excitement and a life which you'll enjoy living.
As the manager of the World Youth Organization, I must say, “It is not quite easy to get this position.” My parents have always been top supporters for my educational progress rather than my true passion, which of course is the World Youth Organization. There have been many arguments when it comes to the controversial(有争议的) topics. Time after time I have to protect my belief and hope it will come true one day.
Proving one wrong, especially your parents, is a tough ride. But when you love something, you constantly put up a fight. You stand for what you believe in, which is one of the most important aspects of life. Any parent or career would require too much. “You must go to university”, “You will not get anywhere without that degree”. All of those sentences make perfect sense, when you're dreaming of becoming a nurse, doctor, teacher or scientist, or a career path which requires that important degree. But I believe what many parents see is that when one has the degree, he/she is automatically set on the right path of life.
However, when the truth is bitter(令人痛苦的), it doesn't always go smoothly. If I am not full of passion, will I lead a happy life? Possibly. Will I be true to myself? No. However, if you are enthusiastic about the subject you study, you are willing to do everything to make it a reality.
A person can take many paths in life and you just need to find the best one for yourself. I strongly agree with considering something to fall back on just in case plan A doesn't go well. Stick with your passion as plan A, unless staying in college can ensure that you are going to be okay in the future.
Follow your passion, be prepared to work hard, be devoted and above all, don't let anyone limit your dreams.
【1】Which of the following can cause a fight between you and your parents in the writer’s view?
A.You go to university. B.You listen to your parents.
C.You hold on to your belief. D.You study hard for the degree.
【2】What is the most important thing in exciting life, according to the last paragraph?
A.Love B.Hard work
C.Devotion D.Independence
【3】What is the best title for the passage?
A.Always Stick with Your Passion as Plan A
B.A Generation Gap between Children and Parents
C.The Importance of Gaining a Degree
D.Attempt to Make a Dream a Reality

Nowadays, most citizens especially those who live in the metropolis(大都市), have to face the traffic jam everyday, which has become one of the major problems in the city.
There are many reasons for traffic jams. At first, because of the fact that the vehicles keep giving off harmful gases during traffic jams, the earth is becoming warmer and warmer. In addition, there is no doubt that traffic jams will affect the effectiveness of work because people have to spend much more time on the way to offices than necessary, and their work will be delayed. Apart from this, traffic jams might give rise to more traffic accident, which becomes a great danger to people's life.
Traffic jams are the result of the cars. Why? Personally I think the first reason may be the remoteness(遥远) of people's workplaces. As a result, people have to choose a tool rather than walking to work. Being flexible and relatively convenient, private cars become very attractive choices. What’s more, owning a private car, especially in some developing countries, is a symbol of wealth and high social positions. In some developed countries it is also the symbol of independence and maturity( 成 熟 ). Anyway, owning and driving private cars are regarded by many people as basic human rights.
Undoubtedly, traffic jams must be dealt with properly. In my view, spending more money on public transportation systems may be an effective means. Needless to say, policies which encourage people to put these systems to full use, for example, giving certain subsidies( 补 贴 ), are necessary. In the meantime, measures to restrict(限制) the use of private cars, such as improving the taxes on cars or petrol should be taken.
