When things aren't going so great, there's a saying to encourage us: when life gives you lemons, make lemonade (柠檬饮料). That's what 15-year-old Zack Francom has been doing in the past nine years. He does that to improve the lives of people in developing countries. They need wheelchairs but don't have money for there. It all started in 2010. His school held a fundraiser (募捐会) to raise $86 to buy a wheelchair for a charity. Although Zack was only 6 years old then, he wanted to keep the-fundraising going. "I thought, `What if I couldn't walk or run or ride my bike? What would that be like?' I wanted to help make life easier for those who couldn't walk or run and didn't have money for a wheelchair to help them get around," he said. Now hundreds of people line up in April to buy lemonade from Zack's store. In 2014 he sold a lot of lemonade, raising $5,300. With that money he was able to buy 37 wheelchairs at a cost of $143 each and ship them to places like Guam and Guatemala, where a wheelchair can cost more than a person would make in one year! Lots of people in poor countries have to pull themselves around with their hands and crawl (爬行) to get around, because wheelchairs are too expensive for them. "We helped one lady in Guatemala who crawled for 10 miles with her baby on her back," said Zack's mom. "What a difference it has made in her life! Stories like this are what keeps Zack going. Zack has no plan to slow down any time soon. In fact, he hopes other kids will follow him.

Almost everybody in America will spend a part of his or her life behind a shopping cart (推车). They will, in a lifetime, push the shopping carts many miles, but few will know-or even think to ask-who it was that invented them. Sylvan 'N. Goldman invented the shopping cart in 1937. At that time he was in the supermarket business. Every day he would see shoppers lugging (拖、拉) groceries around in baskets they had to carry. One day Goldman suddenly had the idea of putting baskets on wheels. To create the first shopping cart, Goldman used folding chairs. He took out one basket on the seat, and he raised the chair by putting wheels under tare legs. The wheeled baskets would make shopping much easier for his customers, and would help to attract more business. On June 4, 1937, Goldman's first carts were ready for-use in his market. He was terribly excited on the morning of that day as customers began arriving. He was eager to see them using his invention. However, Goldman was disappointed- Most shoppers gave the carts a long look, but hardly anybody would give them a try. After a while, Goldman decided to ask customers why they weren't using his carts. "Don't you think this arm is strong enough to carry a shopping basket?" one shopper replied. Goldman wasn't beaten yet. He knew his carts would be a great success if only he could, let people have a try. To this end, Goldman hired (雇佣) a group of people to push carts around his market and pretend they were shopping! Seeing this, the real customers gradually began copying the unreal customers. As Goldman had hoped, the carts’ were soon attracting larger and larger numbers of customers to his market. Not only did more people come-those who came bought more. With larger, easier-to-handle baskets, customers unconsciously bought a greater number of items than before. Today's shopping carts are five times larger than Goldman's original model. Perhaps that's one reason Americans today spend more than five times as much money on food each year as they did before 1937-before the coming of the shopping cart.

When a baby cries, its parents will check on it as soon as they can and make sure it is okay. According to a new study, a baby's cry can make adults react very quickly, even if they are not related to the baby. Oxford University researchers used the classic game whack-a-mole (打地鼠) for the study. Whack-a-hole requires people to hit one of nine buttons (按钮). Players must react as quickly as they can to whichever of the buttons that lights up. It is a game that requires speed and accuracy (准确度). The study invited 40 men and women aged 19 to 59. Some of them had sons or daughters, although none of their children were babies. They played whack a-mole after listening to different sounds, including babies crying, the crying of adults in trouble and birdsongs played at a similar pitch (高音) to the babies' cries. The volunteers' scores were higher after listening to the sound of crying babies. Men and women had similar scores overall. The results showed that hearing a crying baby can trigger a reaction in adults. "It's almost impossible to pay no attention to crying babies on planes. This is true even though there are so many other noises around." said Morten Kringelbach, the scientist who led the study. He added that in the course of human evolution (进化) , taking care of babies has always been an important job for adults. When a baby is hungry, it will cry. As a result, human brains develop a special reaction to a baby's cry.

下面文章中有五处需要添加小标题。请从以下选项(A、B、C、D、E和F)中选出符合各段意思的小标题。选项中有一项是多余选项。
How to get along with your parents? What do you think of your parents? Are they your friends, teachers or just the people who are older than you? As children, what can you do to get along better with your parents? If you want to make friends with your parents and grow into adults yourselves at the same time, you can try taking the following steps.
Your parents won't always be around, so spend time with them while you are able to. You can find activities to do together. In doing this, you will learn more about each other.
In order to understand your parents better, you have to spend time making conversations with them. You can talk about your hobbies, problems, opinions and so on. After that, you can connect with each other on a deeper level.
It may seem easy, but it is often harder than you think. When you are talking with your parents, make sure you are listening. This means looking at them when they are talking, anal speaking clearly when you are replying.
If you want your parents to give you more freedom (自由) , you should show them that you're already "young adults". You should learn to control your feelings and show them that you can manage (安排) your time well.
Do something nice or helpful for your parents. For example, help them with some home chores, make them gifts or teach them some computer skills. In a word, do what you can to help parents.
