The Ministry of Education (教育部) wants students to practice their sports skill. It wants to make homework for physical education classes. It also wants to cut down homework for math and language.

Physical education helps improve children's health in a big way. There was a survey in 2019. It said that as high as 53. 6% of primary and secondary school students were shortsighted (近视的)，and 81%among high school students. More physical activities helped with eyesight problems in children. The survey also said 15. 7 of Grade 1 students had eyesight problems. But in Grade 6, it was 59%. Those six years were important for helping with their eyesight.

40 minutes of outdoor activities every day helps a lot. It can help students to relax their eyes. It can also help their bodies to have vitamin D. For preschool children, they'd better have outdoor sports activities every day. For those aged between 7 and 12, they'd better exercise for at least an hour every day. When I was a junior high school student in 1980, God gave me a gift, it was happiness.

One weekend, I went to visit my grandparents in the countryside. On my way home a car ran over me and cut off my arms because it rushed so fast. Several days later when I woke up at the hospital, I realized I had to spend the rest of my life without arms. How sad I felt at that time! Even I was full of fears, but slowly I knew I had to face the fact and get over it. I couldn't get my arms back even though I cried every day.

But I only enjoy life. I was lucky to realize from an accident. It is not a good idea to keep thinking about what you don't have. We should always think of what we have. So why are so many people unhappy? Someone may say, "My whole life would improve if I have a new car." But when you get the new car and what happens? For a whole week you are walking on air. Then you go right back to being unhappy.

Happiness depends on what we have. It's in our heart. It's a state of mind. Even though you own the whole world, you may still feel unhappy. Happiness comes from mastering the art of appreciating (感激) and taking pleasure in what you really have.

Each summer, there are some fitness events (健身项目) and road races to take part in. Many people are interested in fitness events, but they are worried that they cannot do well in them. However, with good preparation you can finish a race. Here is some advice that can help you to prepare for a race successfully.

The race you pick should be far enough in the future to provide you with enough time to do training.

Talk with the doctor to make sure that you are truly safe to take part in the fitness activity. If not, you'd better give it up.

Make sure you have the right equipment to finish a road race and to reduce (降低) the risk of hurting yourself. Most importantly, choose comfortable sports shoes and clothing. Also, it may be helpful to use your smart phone or to buy a low-cost pedometer (计步器).

Drink lots of water and eat all kinds of healthy foods to make yourself stay healthy. It's important all your life.
