    We all like fantasy stories, and grow up reading and listening to fantasies. These tales fuel our imaginations, and satisfy our longings for adventures. The most interesting thing about fantasies is that their plots involve magical beasts and heroes，animal creatures talking like humans，and other things we can't see in real life. Also, fantasies have a distinguished writing style, with freedom of expression.

    Toy Fantasy

    In toy fantasy stories, narrators (叙述者) bring their beloved toys to life that can live, talk, think，breathe and behave like human beings. You would see modern toy fantasies in a picture book format. Representative works are A. A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh and Carlo Collodi's The Adventures of Pinocchio.

    Animal Fantasy

    The animal fantasy tells tales about animals behaving like human beings, experiencing emotions, and having the ability to talk. However, animals in fantasies hold their various animal characteristics, too. Examples include The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, Charlotte's Web by E. B. White, and The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter which influences children around the world.

    Magical Fantasy

    In a magical fantasy, you see a character having magical powers, or a strange magical object becomes the subject of the story. Stories of this type began widely spreading long ago, including Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and William Steig's Sylvester and the Magic Pebble.

    Modern Folktales

    Modern folktales are types of fantasy that narrators tell in a traditional tale accompanying some typical parts, such as strong conflict, little description of characters, and sometimes magical elements. These tales come before all others and are popular, as authors throughout history, have written them. Hans Christian Andersen has written several tales of this category including The Nightingale, The Emperor's New Clothes and Thumbelina.

Jessica Burks' home is full of opportunities. Packaged slime(黏土) in a variety of colors and pleasant smells lines one wall of living room, and, in the designated "slime room" workspace in the back, bottles of fragrance oil are arranged in rows, next to glue and an industrial-size kitchen mixer.

But it's not the amount of slime in Burks' house that shocks people, she said. It's that her 15-year-old daughter, Samantha Zumwalt, is in charge of their enterprise. The mother-daughter team run Samantha's Slime Shop at home and the demand for their products helps them earn six figures a year. Samantha's slime, offered in a rainbow of colors and a range of textures(质地), is in high demand. Since she started her business, she's made more than 24,000 sales on Etsy. The customers are generally young — between 9 and 12 years old, Burks said, though some adults and teens buy slime, too. Some customers buy Samantha's slime because they say playing with it is calming. Others want it because it gives them something to do with their hands.

Last year, Nichole Jacklyne, a social media blogger, who reviews slime and provides DIY lessons for hundreds of thousands of followers, reviewed Samantha's product in a video. After Jacklyne's video, orders poured into Samantha's shop, Burks said.

However, Samantha's mom was initially resistant to the girl's slime ambitions. It took months for Samantha to convince her mom to buy the key materials to make slime. "I told her no for months," Burks said. Finally, Burks gave in. She had been laid off from her job as an accountant, and the two dove into the slime business. Now, Burks is proud of Samantha for running the business so well, "I hope she can meet all of her business goals — whether that's still running the slime enterprise, or buying another business out, or starting a new business," she said. "Whatever her dreams are… is where I want her to be."

I can remember occasionally nodding off with my phone between my ear and shoulder after hours of conversation with a friend. I'd wake up with the dial tone screaming in my ear. What happened? What did I say? The next day, my friend would tell me a funny story about how I had trailed off（声音逐渐减弱）with some meaningless words and begun snoring（打鼾）into the phone. We had a good laugh, but there was no harm because at least there was no permanent record of it.

For today's young people, nodding off during a verbal phone call may mean a text written in their sleep. Who even knew texting while sleeping was possible before? But it's possible today. A newly-published study from Villanova University's M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing surveyed 372 college students and found that a quarter of them had sleep texting-texting while in a sleep state at some point. Of that group, 72% had no memory of the event. Respondents most likely to text in the sleep were, unsurprisingly, those who regularly slept with the phone on bed with them.

The study indicated that those who reported sleep texting admitted that cellphone use ravaged their sleep, which meant they suffered poor sleep. The study also found that most college students do not get high quality sleep, and that most do not turn off the cellphone when they go to sleep.

Young adults, especially college students, sleep even less than other age groups, often having only 6 to 7 hours of sleep per night. The demands of heavy class loads and the busy social life of college, combined with little to no adult supervision, have already been an environment fit for sleep disruption. Because of today's technology of smartphones laptops, and so on, a solid night's uninterrupted sleep sounds like a faraway dream indeed.

Maybe it's time for a change.

Located at a depth of 20 feet below the surface, the sand of the ocean floor off the coast of the Florida Keys might be an unlikely spot to host a music festival, but that hasn't stopped music enthusiasts from diving underwater to rock out.

For the past 35 years, the Underwater Music Festival, an event that pairs music with conservation, has been hosted. Equipped with guitars, drums and other musical instruments, divers go down to the depths and play along to a playlist of water-inspired songs that are piped underwater via speakers. Over the years the event has gone from being a small grassroots effort put together by few locals, with the idea that once people see what's going on beneath the surface, the more likely they would be to protect it, to a two-day festival that draws dozens of divers, boaters, and musicians to the Keys from around the world.

"Thirty-five years ago a few Keys locals sat down and wanted to figure out a way to bring awareness to our coral reefs (珊瑚礁) that would preserve, rebuild and restore them in any way," says Dave Turner, executive director of the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce. "They came up with this idea of playing music underwater and invited people to listen while also enjoying the local sea life."

"The preservation of the reef is our main purpose," Turner says. "To avoid any further damage, the festival takes place in a nearby sandy area so that the musicians don't disturb the coral when they're performing."

Although holding a music festival underwater may seem a bit out there, Turner is quick to point out that it is actually achievable. "The music is obviously not as clear as when you're sitting in room with stereo (立体音响) but you can still hear it and understand the lyrics and music," he says. "If you were to go underwater you would recognize the song and it would sound the same. It just has little different tone to it. Plus, sound travels faster and farther underwater."

For most of the kids, amusement parks are their favorite. When choosing an amusement park for their kids, parents can begin by going to the specific amusement park's website.  In general, many of the official websites have complete lists of rides and attractions, as well as height limits and target age groups.

When selecting an amusement park for kids you may be able to find one that matches your child's specific interests easily. Usually there are many interesting themed ones in the city. Some parks are built entirely on the theme of a popular television show or a famous cartoon brand.

Another thing you should keep in mind when choosing an amusement park for kids is safety.  Besides, amusement parks, especially those designed for younger kids, often have additional safety features to ensure that kids are safe there, particularly if they become separated from their families.

 It is a wise decision to buy a day pass if it is offered in the park, which typically allows the holder to ride as many rides as desired for one price.

There are different kinds of performances in amusement parks.  Some parents find that it's a good idea to purchase tickets for one of the performances at an amusement park for kids. This gives kids a chance to take a break and sit down to rest for while, even if they may not want to.

Ciudad Perdida, Colombia's "Lost City" is older than Machu Picchu. There are no trains or buses allowing of 1 travels to reach its ruins. The remote place is only 2 on foot: a tiring multi-day hike.

Deep in the forest, my husband and I had fun climbing over and crawling under the downed trees that blocked the dirt path before us. It was May, yet we walked up a snow-covered hill. When we noticed our jeans were wet up to our knees, it did not dampen our spirits Not once did we say, “Let's turn around.” This was our vacation, and we were on an adventure. Little did we know this was the beginning of many more surprises.

The trail was marked as an easy one-kilometer like yet we were already walking a long distance. Our light-heartedness stopped when we came out into a clearing and saw a parking lot without our rental car in it. As my eyes scanned the surroundings, nothing looked familiar. My heart raced. I realized we were lost in a national park that did not officially open for another week.

Usually, I am the calm one in the relationship, but my husband surprised me with his calmness. This did not comfort me; in fact, it heightened my fear. As we walked, I asked my husband to call for help, but there was no cell-phone signal in this isolated (偏僻的) area.

It was awfully quiet except for our footsteps hitting the road, and my heavy breathing. My husband suggested we conserve energy and walk slower. With each step on the road, my feet and thighs hurt while my mind raced with thoughts about people who got lost in the Canadian woods for days.

My vision sharpened. I noticed everything around me: the trees, rocks and snow. I thought we could eat the snow on the ground in case we needed water. For the first time in my life, I was ready and willing to get a ride, but we did not meet with a single car on the road. Silently, I prayed multiple times. We focused on each other, made joint decisions and connected through gratitude. We managed to stay on the main road and walked straight on.
