It is said that the eyes are the windows to our soul(灵魂).  Your eyes need everyday attention.

First, you have to pay more attention to your diet. It's good for your eyes. Also, a regular amount of vitamins(维生素)A and B2 should also be taken.

Second, you must have regular and sound sleep. This relaxes the eye muscles and gives them the rest they need. Sleep can help the body repair its tired tissue(组织). Less sleep can give you dark circles under your eyes and you may feel sleepy during the daytime.

Don't read or write in poor or bright light because it can cause eye tiredness. Too much reading, writing, watching TV or working on a computer can also cause eye tiredness, so rest is required.

China has also taken steps to protect the students' eyesight, such as larger printing in students' textbooks, at least two hours' outdoor activities a day, regular eyesight checking, less time on e-books and so on.

Yuan worked as a teacher at an agriculture(农业) school in An Jiang, Hunan after graduation. Seeing many people die of hunger from 1959 to 1961, he decided to study hybrid rice.

Yuan spent four years looking for a wild rice strain(品牌) that could be crossed(杂交). In 1964, he found it!

Yuan put all his life into creating hybrid rice, which ended hunger for millions of people not only in China, but around the world. Hybrid rice is grown in 57 percent of China's rice fields. It is also grown in over 40 countries, including India, the US and Brazil.

In 2020, Yuan's team set a new world record in growing hybrid rice.

Marco Polo was born in Italy in 1254. When he was 17, he travelled along the Silk Road with his father, who wanted to do trade with the Chinese. Finally, they arrived in Beijing. The black stones were coal, but Marco had never seen coal before!

After he served the Emperor for 17 years, in 1291, Marco returned to Italy. He had a lot of money then. A writer wrote down all the stories that Marco told him in a book called The Description of the World, which became one of the best-selling books in Europe.
