It's Jim's birthday today. He is five years old. He gets many nice birthday presents(礼物) from his family and one of them is a big drum (鼓). “Who gives him the drum?” his father asks. “His grandfather does,” answers Jim's mother. Jim likes his drum very much. He makes a noise(噪音) with it, but his mother doesn't say anything about it. His father is not at home. He is working in a school. So he doesn't hear the noise. But one of the neighbours (邻居) doesn't like the noise at all. So one morning she takes a knife and goes into Jim's room. Jim is making a noise with the drum. She says to him, “Hello, Jim. Do you know there is something nice in your drum? Here's a knife. Open the drum and let's find it.”
There are twelve months in a year. My favorite month is October.
October 1st is National Day. We have a seven-day holiday (假期). During the holiday, my parents often take me to see my grandparents.
There are also some interesting school activities in October. On the 12th, we have a soccer game. I don't love basketball because it's difficult for me. But I love soccer. I love playing soccer and watching soccer games. We have a book sale on October 20th. I have three old books and I want to sell them. The art festival is fun. We have it on October 29th. My birthday is also on this day. October is a really great month for me.

In China, September 10th is a special day. It's Teachers' Day. Teachers' Day began in 1985. It is a great day for all the teachers and also a happy time for us students. How do we spend Teachers’ Day every year?
On that day, we go to school early in the morning, and put a bunch (束) of flowers on our teacher's desk to give him or her a big surprise. Some of us help him or her to do some easy work. And others stand at the school gate to say hello to teachers when they go into the school.
In the afternoon, we have a party. We sing and dance with the teachers.
All of us are very happy. The teachers say that the best reward (奖励，奖赏) for them is to see our great progress(进步).
