Visitors to Japan are often excited about the delicious food, but many people are a little nervous what to do at restaurants or in a Japanese household. So it's helpful to know basic table (manner) before going to Japan.

When you are eating dinner with some Japanese friends, don't directly pass (food) from your chopsticks to somebody else's chopsticks. It's also important not to stick chopsticks vertically(垂直地) food, especially into a bowl of rice. It's not polite to move your chopsticks up and down above dishes or to point somebody with your chopsticks.
