For females, it takes a lot of energy to lay eggs and raise young, so she wants to be sure she chooses the right mate before putting all his eggs in one basket, so to speak. When schools, theaters, amusement parks and libraries around the country closed due to the COVID—19, kids were left with few activities to keep them busy.
