Sitting straight at his desk, Sami Sabeaallil turns on the lights, places his mobile phone on a selfie stick and starts greeting his viewers. "Hi everyone, this is Sami,"he says in Chinese. "I will recommend you some toys tonight…"

Every day, Sami livestreams (网络直播) on Douyin (China's domestic version of TikTok) for one or two hours, promoting his toys to Chinese buyers. Based in Yiwu City, the world's largest trading center for daily consumer goods in East China's Zhejiang Province, the 22-year-old said he is likely the first foreigner to get into livestream selling in Yiwu and take advantage of China's skyrocketing e-commerce industry.

Sami has been selling his toys on his Douyin account since last June. Most of his videos are about his products or show him hanging around Yiwu's markets and cracking jokes. For a video he published last October, he invited dozens of foreigners from various countries to express their love for China, which got nearly 30,000 likes.

As a young Chinese-speaking foreigner, Sami attracts much attention on China's social media. He now has only about 28,000 followers on Douyin but his goal is to have 10 million followers within two years.

The COVID-19 pandemic is severely hitting the economy of many countries and has caused great losses among Yiwu's producers and suppliers. Sami decided to try livestreaming and look for more Chinese domestic buyers via Douyin. As an owner of a Yiwu-based toy company, Sami used to have half of his orders from overseas. However, overseas orders have not been satisfactory in the past year, so he is gradually shifting his business to Chinese market as the epidemic situation in China has largely improved.

A few potential buyers have reached Sami and one of them bought over 100,000 yuan ($14,860) of toys from him, which Sami described as "a good beginning. "

Sami is not the only foreigner in Yiwu interested in livestreaming promotion. According to Yiwu Industrial and Commercial College, quite a few of its 140 overseas students say they will try livestreaming e-commerce industry after graduation.

The college is offering its overseas students courses on China's livestream selling market, which include how to attract more followers, how to select suitable products, how to interact with audiences and how to shoot and edit short videos.

Most children now chat daily online or via their mobile phones. They are connecting to a huge community of other children all over the world. Some are shy "in real life" but socialise with confidence online; others find support from people of their own age on relationship issues, or problems at home.

Sometimes the online world, just like the real world, can introduce problems, such as bullying or arguments. Going online is great fun, but there are also a few people who use the Internet for offensive or illegal purposes. Children must be made aware of both the good things and the dangers.

To keep children safe, your supervision as a parent must cover the family computer. Just as you decide which TV programs are suitable, you need to do the same for the websites and chatrooms your children visit.

Remind children that online friends are still strangers. Reminding them of the risks will keep them alert(警惕的).

Computer studies are part of schoolwork now, so it's likely that your children may know more than you do. We get left behind when it comes to the interactive areas of websites, like chatrooms and message boards, which are especially strange. The language of chat is strange to many parents, too. Chatters love to use abbreviations(缩写)such as atb— all the best, bfn—bye for now, cul8er—see you later, gr8— great, idk—I don't know, kit— keep in touch, paw—parents are watching, lol—laugh out loud, xlnt—excellent! It seems like another language, and it is!

It seems that we are one step closer to finding alien life and maybe a future home for humanity. Scientists from NASA have found a new solar system filled with planets that look like the Earth and could even support life.

The group of seven planets, which orbits a star called Trappist-1, is 39 light years away from the Earth in the constellation of Aquarius(水瓶座). And three of them are in the "habitable zone" —the area around a star where water is most likely to be found. This is important because water is necessary for life.

"This is an amazing planetary(行星的) system - not only because we have found so many planets, but because they are all surprisingly similar in size to the Earth", astronomer Michael Gillon from the University of Liege in Belgium told The Independent.

Trappist-1 is a "dwarf star(矮星)" which is colder and shines dimmer than our sun. If a person were on one of the seven planets, everything would look a lot darker than usual. The amount of light heading toward our eyes would be about 200 times less than we get from the sun, according to The Independent.

Because of that, Trappist-1, together with many other dwarf stars, was never on the list of places where scientists looked for alien life. But Michael Gillon, lead researcher behind the discovery, decided to give dwarf stars a chance. He built a telescope in Chile to observe 60 of the closest dwarf stars, and it turned out that Trappist-1 was worthy of the effort.

The researchers hope that they can spend more time watching the newly found planets to learn more about them. Even though more research is needed before determining whether these planets could really support life, the discovery is still encouraging. It shows just how many Earth-size planets could be out there.

"[The discovery] gives us a hint that finding a second Earth is not just a matter of if, but when," NASA scientist Thomas Zurbuchen told The Telegraph.

It's easy to stick to eating the same foods every day, especially if you love them.

Eating the same foods can lead to nutritional shortage. Our bodies need a wide range of nutrients, and eating a wide variety of foods can help us meet our body's needs.  Almost everyone would agree that "eat the rainbow" is a good rule of thumb. Don't forget frozen vegetables are just as healthy as fresh and they don't spoil as quickly.

Your immune(免疫) system will get hurt if you keep eating the same foods. According to a study published in the British Journal of Nutrition, the enhanced nutrition from a varied diet seems to boost immunity.  People whose diets have little variation are more likely to get sick due to a weakened immune system.

Sticking to eating the same foods leads to food boredom. It should be something you look forward to. Changing up what you eat exposes you to great new foods and new recipes, and helps bring back the fun in eating.

 We see a lot of people focus on a single nutrient or food because it attracts media fame. And while all foods are to be celebrated for their unique nutritional quality, assigning yourself to a limited list of foods because they are the most well-known or well described will box you in and close you off from various other vital nutrients.

For the past ten years, my dad and I have attended the same school — he as an administrator and I as a student. Our relationship, in and out of school, has been totally unpredictable.

When I was younger, all that my dad said was doctrine (信条) and anything he did I,1, copied. We played games together, and stayed up late reading bedtime stories. I could2my dad taking me to school, running into him3during the day and riding home with him every afternoon.

As I grew older, we were not as4as we used to be. He wasn't cool any more. He wore his socks too high, listened to5country music and laughed too loudly in front of my friends. He became a total embarrassment.

However, the6that happened in school were even worse. The worst one happened in seventh grade. My dad came to our New Year party,7as Donald Duck, guitar in hand, singing silly songs. Just kill me! I wanted to run away.

This8continued into high school, but we began to find a balance. Things started to9around the time of my 10th-grade physics project. The10was to build a wood bridge with the best strength-to-weight ratio (比率). All the students and physics teachers11. So did my dad, the only administrator! Embarrassed, as usual, I12the scene. 13, later when I learned from my friends that my dad14all competitors and won everyone's admiration, I found that mixed in with my15was a touch of pride.

I had needed someone else to show me what I16in my dad. It wasn't the fact that he'd won; it was more than that. I began to17that we have many of the same values and sometimes the same opinions. No matter how much I had tried to18him, he still influenced me.

I feel19to have such an unusual father. The20I have developed with my dad over the years has enabled me to look back and see how I've grown.

A second crew of three astronauts are heading for China's Tianhe space station module after the (succeed) launch(发射) of the Shenzhou-13 mission(任务) Friday.

Astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu will be busy during their six months in orbit. They'll spend a lot of time (test) and validating(验证) technologies that will allow China to finish construction of the new space station, is called Tiangong ("Heavenly Palace"). That station will consist of three modules; the other two (expect) to launch toward the 54-foot-long (16. 6 meters) Tianhe next year.

For example, the Shenzhou 13 crew will move the robotic Tianzhou 2 cargo(货物) spacecraft from one Tianhe docking(对接) port to , using the module's robotic arm, Chinese officials said. Tianzhou 2 (arrive) at Tianhe in May, delivering supplies for the Shenzhou 12 crew.

Zhai, Wang and Ye will also conduct all kinds of (experiment) onboard Tianhe, including work (design) to advance space medicine and scientists' understanding of microgravity physics. (微重力物理学) And researchers on the ground will keep close tabs(监视) on the trio's health, to learn more how long-duration(长持续时间) spaceflight affects people (mental) and physically. The crew will also conduct two or three spacewalks during the Shenzhou 13 mission.
