    A kind of little cars may some day take the place of today's cars. If everyone drives such cars in the future, there will be less pollution. There will also be more space for parking cars in cities, and the streets will be less crowded. Three such cars can fit in the space now needed for one car of the usual size.

    The little cars will cost much less to own and to drive. Driving will be safer too, as these little cars can go only 65 kilometres an hour.     Kobe Bryant died with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people in a helicopter crash （直升机坠毁）in California. Lots of people were surprised at the news and very sad about losing the great basketball player.

    Kobe Bryant was born on August 23, 1978 with basketball already in his blood. When Kobe was six years old, his dad started playing basketball in Europe, so his family moved to Italy. Then Kobe started playing basketball.

    The family moved back to the United Stated when Kobe was 13. Though his grades were good, he still chose to join the NBA Al-Star Game for the first time in 1998. Kobe was an 18-time All-Star player. He won five NBA championships（冠军）and two Olympic gold medals. People think he was one of the greatest basketball players during his 20-year life with the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe retired（退役）in 2016. In 2018, he won an Academy Award for a short film about his dreams of playing basketball.

Many kinds of birds live in the United States, but the number of the birds is becoming smaller every year. One of the leading reasons is the growing number of pet cats. By keeping your pet cats in your home, you can help give birds a better possible chance to live.

Of the 90 million pet cats in this country, about two-thirds are allowed to go outside. It is said that these cats kill hundreds of millions of birds each year as well as billions of small animals such as rabbits and field mice.

They can also bring illness to the animals that live in people's yard, and further weakening(变弱)the health of the natural populations.

Allowing pet cats to go outside is not just bad for birds and wildlife(野生动物). It is bad for the cats themselves, too. Outdoor cats can get sick very easily. They may be in danger from traffic and attacks(攻击) from other animals. In fact, outdoor cats usually don't pass the age of five, while indoor cats often live to be 17 or older.
