English breakfast is a very big meal—eggs,, tea and coffee. For many people, lunch is a quick meal. In cities there are a lot of sandwich bars, where office workers can buy the kind of bread they want—brown,, or a roll—and then all kinds of salad and meat or fish to go in the sandwich. School children can have ameal at school. But many just take a sandwich, a drink and some fruit from home. "Tea" means two things. It is aand a meal! Some people have afternoon tea, with sandwiches, cakes withand a cup of tea. They usually have the evening meal quite, between 6:00 and 8:00, and a cup often all the family together.
On Sundays, many families have traditional lunch. They have chicken,pork andwith potatoes. The English like food from other countries, especially France, China, Italy and India. People often get take-away food. They buy the foodand then bring it home to eat.
