Some are born with the ability to talk to people in any kind of situation and express their ideas. Having no confidence can be one of the reasons why these people are afraid to talk with others. So it's necessary for them to know some ways to talk to people.
In some situations where you are finding it awkward (难为情的) to talk to people, just carry a smile, and you'll find that people will actually start talking to you!
Using good body language during a conversation is also important. Before you start talking, make sure that you are in a good posture (姿势), and look into the eyes of the other person. It also shows you're interested to talk to the person.
For talking comfortably to people on the phone, you have to learn to listen actively. Here, body language is of no importance at all. And at the same time repeat to the person what he or she said from time to time. This shows your interest in the conversation.
It's difficult to talk with unhappy people. Such people are less likely to talk first because of their bad state of mind. Try asking closeended questions. For example, you can ask like this:Have you been alright lately? Or was your day a good one? This will help calm the other person down.
A. And this can increase your confidence.
B. However, remember to use a gentle voice.
C. Start a lively conversation with the latest events.
D. A smile is a good way to start any conversation.
E. Talking to people is not a difficult task as it may seem to be.
F. You just need to listen carefully to the person at the other end.
G. For some people, it's difficult even to start a light conversation.
However objective we believe ourselves to be, most of us do not judge a product only on the basis of its advantages; we don't only 1 its quality, value or style before making a decision. 2 , we are easily influenced by the people around us.
There is nothing 3 with this. It is probably a smarter way to make decisions than relying on only our own 4. But it does make life hard for companies. They have long understood that groups of friends and relatives 5 to buy the same products, but understanding the 6 has been tricky. Is it because they are so similar with regard to how much money they 7 and what television ads they watch that they independently arrive at the same decision? Or do they 8 one another, perhaps out of envy or perhaps because they have 9 information about the products?
Research in Finland recently found good 10 that neighbours have a big influence on buying 11. When one of a person's ten nearest neighbours bought a car, the chances that that person would buy a car of the 12 brand during the next week and a half rose by 86 percent. The researchers argued that it was not just a matter of envy. 13 cars seemed to attract neighbours even more. This suggested that people were not trying to keep up with their neighbours, they were eager to 14 them. Since secondhand cars are less reliable, people are more likely to consider others' 15 before buying.
—Don't worry. Let's go to the Science Museum instead.
Black Friday is a popular holiday, which is usually celebrated day after Thanksgiving in the United States. On this day, Americans all over the country rise at dawn in order to stand at the head of the line at (vary) stores, so that they can get deeply discounted (打折的) deals offered by these stores.
This day is called Black Friday because it is the day on which many traders "hit the black",(mean) that they start to make money after being "in the red", all year long. The traders used (write) with a red pen on their ledgers (账簿) to show losses and black inks to show gains. It is not how this holiday gets its name, although it is (common) believed by the public to be the case.
Although this day (continue) to be a big holiday in the United States, it is beginning to lose some of its (popular). That is because more and more people are turning (they) attention to online shopping. It allows them to buy what they want convenience. As a result, Cyber (网络的) Monday appears,is a day directly competes with Black Friday and may lead to its downfall.
"Are you going to the audition (试镜)?" Someone asked Connie, as we came out of ballet class.
"What audition?" I asked.
"Oh, nothing," said Connie. "It's for The Ed Sullivan Show. You wouldn't be1."
The Ed Sullivan Show was a famous onehour show on CBS. They constantly needed performers for their new shows. This time they were looking for six dancers to support the star performer Jimmy Durante.
"Why not? I'd love to go!" I 2.
Connie smiled at me and said, "I don't think you are 3 yet, Eva. "
Later that night, I couldn't fall asleep. It 4 me. Who said I shouldn't go to the audition? Only because I was a young novice (新手)? How would I know if I didn't try?
The next morning, I 5 I was going to the audition. I packed my dancing shoes, and put on bright red lipstick. As I looked at my 6 in the mirror, I saw one thing missing. I put on a smile.
I took the subway to the Eighth Avenue and walked to the rehearsal studio. I 7 and took my place nervously.
The audition began. More and more dancers were knocked out. I was still there with my friends. Then we were asked to do a jeté en l'air 8: stand on one leg, kick the other one up and out as close to a split as possible, and then do a turn in the air. Hopefully, you'd land on both feet.
All the other candidates did the jeté beautifully. It was my turn. I took the preparatory step, and with that neverending smile, I leaped up into the air, turned in midair and landed flat on my back. But even then, the smile never 9 my face.
When everything settled down, my friends were instructed to go to the right. When I was told to go to the left, their faces told they felt 10 for me.
I picked up my belongings and prepared to leave when the choreographer (编舞) called out to me, "Where are you going? You've got the 11 if you want it. "
Did I want it? I certainly did. I thought I had been 12!
There were no jetés in the 13. I made my first appearance on national TV. I never stopped 14, and I always landed on my feet.
It proved once again that a smile will get one 15 than a frown ever will.
