There are very few limits (限制) about cartoon films. If you can draw something, you can make it 1 on the cinema screen (银幕). The use of new ideas and modern computer programs means that cartoons are becoming exciting again for people of 2 ages.
By 1970, the cinema world had decided that 3 were only for children.
But soon after that, one or two 4 had some new ideas. They proved (证明) that it was 5 to make films which both grown-ups(成年人)and children could enjoy.
However, not every cartoon film was successful. The Black Cauldron, for failed mainly because it was too 6 for children and too childish.(幼稚的)for grown-ups. Film makers 7 from this mistake, and then cartoons were 8 by both children 9grown-ups. And the film companies could make much 10.

Many people still remember the beautiful dance “Thousand-hand Guanyin” in the CCTV Spring Festival Party. The lead dancer of the dance is Tai Lihua.
When Tai Lihua was two years old, she lost her hearing because of a fever, then she became mute (哑的), too. From then on, her world was silent. But she didn't know this at first. At the age of five, when her schoolmates in kindergarten (幼儿园) played a game about sound, she discovered that she was different from others. She was very sad about it. Her father went to many places to look for the best treatments for her illness. But nothing worked. When she was seven years old, she went to a school for deaf and mute children. In that school, she did well in her studies. Her teacher said she was good at expressing her feelings through dance.
She also began to love dance and dance became her favorite. She thought she could use dance to express what she thought about life. She worked hard at it and her hard work made her successful. She has been to many other countries to perform and many foreigners like her style.
Dads work hard every day. Father's Day is the time for us to say “thank you”to our dads.
The idea for Father's Day started 11909. A woman called Sonora Dodd thought about 2a Father's Day holiday when she was listening to a Mother's Day speech at church. She wanted a special day to honour her father, William Smart. Mr Smart's wife died when she was giving birth to 3sixth child. He raised the baby and his4five children5 a farm.
When she became 6adult, Sonora Dodd understood how kind her father was. When he was raising his six children7, he worked very 8to make sure his children grow up 9.
Since 1966, the third Sunday in June has become a national Father's Day in10. In early times, people wore red roses 11respect for fathers who were still living and white flowers for fathers who had died. Today, people all over the world celebrate(庆祝) Father's Day 12many different ways. Some people buy their fathers something useful. Some people just do some simple things that they can do 13preparing a cup of tea or making some nice food for them. One day, I heard an American boy say to a Chinese girl student ,"You speak very good English. "But the girl answered, "No, no. My English is very poor". The foreigner was quite1at the answer. Thinking he had not made2understood or the girl had not3him clearly, he said, "Yes, indeed, you speak very well. "4the girl still kept saying,
"No. "In the end, the American boy could not understand and didn't know 5to say.
What's wrong with the girl's answer? She didn't6a compliment (恭维)in the same way as the American people do. She should answer, "Thank you" instead of "No". She7 understood what the American boy had said, but she thought she should be modest(谦虚的).
In the8,people will feel proud and 9when they are praised(表扬).So if someone says the 10you have cooked are very delicious, you shou ld say , "Thank you. "
In our country we think being modest is a virtue(美德)and being proud is a bad thing.
But in my opinion, being confident does not 11 being proud, so sometimes you should be confident 12being modest.
13you are modest and say, "No , I'm afraid I can't do it well" ,while working in a western country, the others may think that you really cannot do it. If you often s ay "No", you will certainly be looked down upon by 14. When asking for a job, if one says something like "Yes, I can certainly do it" instead of "Let me have a try" ,he or she will 15 to get it.
So in the west, you should be brave to show your self-confidence.
Clothing(服装)is a language. We can look at the traditional clothing to know more about1.
Africa has a long history and a rich culture, and this is 2 in traditional dress. The three colors-red, gold and 3are often used in the clothing. The first color represents the blood of millions of people who fought 4 freedom; the second, rich resources of the African earth; and the third, the grassland of home.
Because clothing has strong social meanings, people are very5in choosing what to wear. It would be a serious mistake to wear the wrong clothes,6to dress in the wrong way. For example, in Ghana(加纳),a woman should wear her waistband(腰带)7 according to the importance of the social event.
Traditional dress also tells us about everyday life. African 8 are famous for loose(宽松的)clothing. The temperature there can be very high during the daytime but very low at night, so it 9that the clothes are comfortable for daily life.
Today although more and more young people like wearing Western clothes, especially in big cities in Africa, traditional African dress is 10 quite valuable. This is because it has deep cultural meanings.
The red star over China is shining brightly on its sixty- fifth birthday. And why is that? There are many reasons. First of all, there is peace and prosperity(繁荣) in China. It means that there will be lots of chances for you to do good jobs and to use all of your talents.
The rest of the world has started to take a closer 6 at China and they like what they see. In recent world wide survey, almost seventy percent of the people said they had a "positive image" of China. They thought China is beautiful and they are 7 in what is happening in China.
And it is not only because of economy, 8 Chinese culture. Zhang Ziyi and Gongli are famous all over the world, as well as the movie director Ang Lee. Writers like Gao Xingjian and Ba jin have won international awards. And painters, such as Wu Zuoren are selling their works for record high prices. This 9 China seem pretty cool and it really is!

Body language, which is known as the "silent language" of every culture, can be the key 1 successful communication. We point fingers or move another part of the body to show 2we want to say. 3 is important to know the body language of every country or we may be misunderstood. In the United States, people greet each other4a handshake in a formal(正式) introduction. The handshake must be firm. If the handshake is weak, it is considered(认为) impolite or5. Space is important to Americans. People in America usually stand two and a half feet away when 6to each other, so they do not face each other directly. Americans get uncomfortable when a person stands too 7. They will move back to have their space. If an American touches another person by accident, he says "Pardon me" or "Excuse me". Americans like to look at the other person in the eyes when they are talking. If you don't do so, it means you are bored, hiding something, or are not interested. But when you stare at someone for a long time, it is considered rude and 8, 9 a culture's body language is sometimes very difficult. 10 you don't know what to do, the safest thing to do is smile.
British people are famous for apologizing (道歉) in almost every situation. 1we are apologizing for asking a question, for our bad weather or we sneeze before others (打喷嚏), we are probably the number-one nation for apologies. We pride ourselves on our polite 2 in public. As a result, we use the word "sorry" quite a lot—even when we don't really 3 it! Usually, if you want to ask someone for the time, you would start by saying "Sorry to bother you. Do you know the time?" If you're five minutes late for an appointment (约会), you would generally4 the person by saying "Sorry, I'm late! We use the word "sorry" in so many different situations that the meaning of the word has slightly 5 over time. The two main dictionary definitions (定义) of "sorry" are: feeling sad for someone else because of their problems or feeling regret because you've done something wrong. Usually, when you want to ask a stranger a question, you 6 with "Sorry to disturb you." In this situation, we aren't saying sorry because we feel sad for that person or because we feel regret. So what does "sorry" really mean? Well, in the British 7, saying "sorry" is a way to be polite, especially to people who you don't know very well. It's also a very8 way to get what you want. 9, an actor asked different people on a rainy day if he could use their mobile phones. When he asked one group of strangers without apologizing first, he was only 9 per cent successful in borrowing their phones. 10, when he apologized to another group about the bad weather before asking if he could use their mobile phones, he was 47 per cent successful. So maybe saying "sorry" is not just being polite, but it is also a good method to get what you want too!

The song was written by two sisters from Kentucky, Mildred and Patty Smith Hill. It was first published under the2 of "Good Morning to All" in 1893. It was used as a classroom greeting. Teachers sang it each day to3 their students to the classroom.
The composer, Mildred Hill, was a concert pianist. Her sister Patty Smith Hill wrote the original(最初的)lyrics(歌词)for the song4 she was a teacher in a kindergarten in Louisville, Kentucky, where Mildred also taught.
The Hill sisters copyrighted(取得版权) their song on October 16, 1893. However, it appeared without their5 in Robert H. Coleman's songbook on March 4, 1924.
