Within three weeks, he felt well enough to take a vacation to Puerto Rico where he began running on the beach for14.

Kobe Bryant was born with basketball already in his blood. His dad was a former NBA star Joe "Jellybean" Bryant. Born on August 23, 1978, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kobe spent his early years in Italy, because his dad started playing basketball in Europe and his family moved there. The family moved back to the United States when Kobe was 13 and he started playing high school basketball.

Kobe figured he was already good enough to play in the NBA, so he skipped college and was selected right after high school. In 2003, Kobe was caught by the police. In 2004, the case against Kobe was dropped, but Kobe still had to live with a damaged reputation. In 2004, Kobe tried to prove that he could lead the LA Lakers without Shaq. After Kobe told the Lakers he wouldn't be wearing the purple and gold if Shaq was in the team, O'Neal was traded to the Miami Heat before the 2004-2005 season.

In 2008, Bryant was named Most Valuable Player and carried his team to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Boston Celtics. In the 2009 NBA Finals, the Lakers beat the Orlando Magic to win the championship.

Although later seasons were affected by injuries, he surpassed (超越) Michael Jordan for third place on the NBA all-time scoring list in December 2014 and retired in 2016 after scoring 60 points in his final game.

Dr Li Wenliang, a quite responsible (负责的) doctor was said to be (A)______ on Friday February 7th from the virus, according to the Central Hospital of Wuhan. He was born in Jinzhou, Liaoning province and was one of eight people who tried to warn(警示) about the novel coronavirus(新冠肺炎)  

On Dec 30, 2019, the doctor warned in an online chat group on WeChat. He said he saw a report: seven sick people died from SARS(非典). On Jan 3, Li and the seven others were called to Wuhan police station (B)______ the reason : "spreading rumors(传播谣言) on the Internet". They were reprimanded(训诫) but not fined or stopped working, according to the police.

(D)Li went on his work in the hospital until Jan 10. On that day, he came down with a cough and fever. On Feb 1, he said he was confirmed(确定) as having the illness on his weibo account.

The post soon got tens of thousands of net-friends to pray for the doctor. "I won't sleep tonight!!! Wait for his good news!" One of them wrote. But the next morning the bad news about (C)his death still came.

World Health Organization(WHO) said, " We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr Li Wenliang. We all need to know the work that he did on fighting against novel coronavirus. The National Supervisory Commission (国家监委)has also decided to send a team to Wuhan to get more information about his death. 

    Her life looks like one straight out of a fairy tale. Li Ziqi impresses millions with her videos. Yuan Longping, a Chinese scientist and educator, died at the age of 91 in Hunan last month. He was called the "Father of Hybrid Rice（杂交水稻）"and he helped 1 people around the world.

When people discover that I work as a film and TV extra(临时演员)， they always ask me the same questions: Emily, is it easy to get work? Isn't it boring? Do you get to meet famous actors? Does it pay well? My answers are pretty standard as well: Yes, sometimes, once in a while, and… kind of. The life of an extra is both more interesting and more boring than you might imagine.

Extras, who play the people in crowds, on streets, or in the background of indoors scenes, can come from all walks of life. Unlike many extras, I'm a trained actor. I do get real speaking roles, but work can be hard to come by if you're not a popular star. I'm registered(注册) with an agency that deals only with extras, so I get calls all the time. The agency explains who I'll be—someone in a crowd, a member of a jury, a clerk—and tells me where to go. Call time is usually bright and early, so I try to get to bed at a reasonable hour.

Sometimes being an extra is a "hurry up and wait" job. In my first extra role, I was one of a group of office workers who come out of a building just as a car explodes(爆炸) in the street. We waited for hours for the scene to be shot, and then went in and out of the building about fifty times, trying to act terrified by an explosion which was not real. Then we had lunch, changed clothes, and spent the afternoons as customers in a department store.

It may sound like I don't enjoy the work, but I do. Being part of the background in a convincing(令人信服的) way is challenging, and being on a film or TV set is always fascinating. A lot of famous actors don't even notice the extras, but the ones who do make the job a lot of fun for everyone. As for the money, it's nothing compared to what the big actors make, but it pretty much pays the bills. And, as a bonus, I've beaten my high scores on all my phone games, thanks to all the time I spend sitting around, waiting for something to happen.

Lu Xun is one of the greatest Chinese writers of the 20^th century. Besides his famous stories, he also wrote many influential articles about the living conditions of Chinese people.

Born in 1881 to a wealthy family, Lu Xun had a happy childhood. In 1893, however, his grandfather, a senior government official, was put into prison for taking money. At the same time, his father became seriously ill. From that time on, his family were no longer accepted by their relatives and friends. These early experiences greatly influenced his writing.

By the time Lu Xun arrived in Nanjing to study at university in 1899, he already believed that Chinese society had to change and become modern. In 1902 he went to study in Japan. There, he began writing articles for several Chinese student magazines. He showed a gift for writing and translating and he even wrote several books, although none was popular. He returned to China in 1909 because he was in need of money.

After working for several years as a teacher in Beijing, Lu Xun again returned to writing. In 1918, he wrote his famous short story Diary of a Madman. It was the first Chinese novel published using the everyday language that people spoke, which helped make it a great success. This, together with his novel The True Story of Ah Q (1921), made Lu Xun a leading Chinese writer.

Although successful, Lu Xun still worried greatly about China's future. In 1926, he moved to Shanghai and gave up writing stories in order to devote himself to what he called "pen warfare". He now only wrote articles which called on the people to fight against the government. For this, the government stopped him from publishing any more books. He was forced to write his articles using false names.

Since his death in 1936, Lu Xun's importance and influence have grown. Today, many of his writings are included in school textbooks and his works are read by millions around the world.

Wang Yaping, China's second female astronaut who is now on a six-month mission onboard the country's Space Station, has recently recorded a video message for the United Nations office in Geneva, Switzerland, sending her greetings to women around the world on International Women's Day on March 8.

"I hope all girls with space dreams guard your vision of going to the sea of stars. One day, before you know it, when you look up, you will see that your dream is already within reach," Wang said.

"Women can all complete the same training as male astronauts. And many physical and psychological characteristics of women can play an advantage in space, being complementary to male astronauts," she said.

"I would like to thank every female for their selfless dedication, I also wish every female would pick the brightest stars for the lives in our own starry sky. "

Wang and two other astronauts went into space onboard the Shenzhou-13 spaceship and entered the space station on October 16, 2021.

Wang, who once dreamed of being a teacher, delivered a 40-minute open class, China's first live space lecture, in the Shenzhou-10 spaceship on June 20, 2013, to over 60 million schoolchildren across the country.

"I love to be a space teacher, facing the lovely children in front of the screen, including my daughter," Wang said in the video message.

Eight years later, she delivered another live space lecture in China's space station on December 9, 2021.
