MythBusters is a TV program. Its presenters, Jamie and Adam, collect some popular

    sayings and then try to find out they're true or not. Here're two interesting sayings.

Elephants Are afraid of mice.

    To find out if the saying is true or not, Jamie and Adam travelled to South Africa to put

    mice around elephants and see what would happen. They put mice in small holes in the ground and covered them with elephant dung(粪便).When an elephant came closer, they pulled the dung away to show the mice. The elephant ran away quickly when it saw the mice. Jamie and Adam thought it was enough to show that the saying is true.

The colour red makes bulls angry.

    The Spanish began using a red cape((披风) in bullfighting(斗牛) around the1700s. Andpeople always think that the colour red makes bulls angry.Jamie and Adam asked a bullfighter to take flags(旗子) of different colours in front of abull. As a result, the bull was not interested in flags in red, blue or white when the flag werenot moving. To make the bull angry, the flag had to be moving. In this way, Jamie and Adam found that the colour red doesn't make bulls angry.

    Good food photography (摄影) makes the food look fresh, so many dishes have stand 一 ins (替身), just as film stars do. "When I get my lights and camera set up, I remove the stand-in and put in the real thing," explains Ray Webber, who photographs food for magazine advertisements. "Sometimes I have to brush the food with its juice because it may have dried out a bit. And when I'm shooting (拍摄) something like tomatoes, I always carry an atomizer (喷雾器) of water to spray (喷洒) them with dew(水珠) just before I shoot."

    Shooting food outdoors has special problems. "I'm always worrying about flies or worms (虫) coming up the glass." Webber explains. "I am also worried that someday a dog will come up from behind and run off with the food." Once Webber was shooting a piece of cheese outdoors and needed something to add to its colour. Finally he found a plant with lovely blue flowers. When the photo appeared, several people were horrified (惊骇的), because the plant was deadly nightshade (颠茄).

    Will the sky fall? The answer is no. But if it happens, there's no need to be afraid.

    The American film Chicken Little opened over ten years ago. Its story tells us: don't worry too much in your life.

    One day Chicken Little is in the woods when an acorn(橡子) falls on his head! This makes him afraid. He thinks a piece of sky is falling! He can't wait to tell everyone about it. They run for their lives! When everyone learns the truth(真相)，no one likes Chicken Little. They laugh at him. He gets a bad name in the town- Oakey Oaks. It's time for him to change others' minds.

    Chicken Little begins to play baseball. He is not bigger than a ball, but he plays very well! He helps his team win. Now they think he's great.

In the song, one of the  is Ansam. She is a ten-year-old girl. When she was born (出生), she couldn't see . But later people found she could sing very well. She sang the song Heartbeat with another 40 children. They all lost their parents in the war. In this song, children hope (希望) they can have a happy  and there is no war in Syria. But many people lost their homes  the war broke out (爆发) on April 13^th 2018 again. Everybody hopes the war can . We hope all the kids have food to eat. They can live with their parents. They can study in the classroom. They can sing under the trees and swim in the sea.

    We are lucky to live in a great , China. Now we have food to eat. We are  in the classroom. We  reading books in the library. So we should study hard and love our parents and friends.

The Wandering Earth becomes more and more popular. The film is d by Frant Gwo(郭帆). In the film, the Sun is dying and will eat the Earth in 100 years. Soon it will eat the w solar system.

Before this movie is made, most people think that a Chinese­made sci­fi movie would not do as w as America, but The Wandering Earth has changed them forever. Through the e of Gwo's team, the film is successful. It has already brought in around $560 million in China in just two weeks. The Art of Paper

Chen Zijiang is a paper-cutting expert whom I interviewed for my article on Chinese Art. Paper-cutting is something that he learned to do from an early age.

"It is a Chinese folk art with a long history," Mr Chen told me, "Paper cuts of animals have been found in tombs." He added that by the Southern Song Dynasty, paper-cutting had become an important part of everyday life.

They are paper cuts for decoration, for religious purposes(宗教目的) and for design patterns.

Paper cuts for decoration are often seen on windows and gates They are also used on presents. A present for parents whose child has recently been born might show a paper cut of children, for example. Paper cuts which show the Chinese character for double happiness are often used to celebrate weddings.

Paper cuts for religious purposes are often found in temples

The third kind of paper cuts are those used to make patterns on clothing. They are also sometimes used to decorate jewellery boxes

    Many artists include drawing of nature in their work. But the results can be very different. Here are four of the most famous.

    ◇Stanislaw Witkiewicz (1885-1939) was a Polish artist. You often see his paintings in art galleries in Poland. Many people like Witkiewicz's paintings of people's faces, but I prefer his paintings of nature and landscapes. This one (painted in 1907) shows the Hinczow Lakes in the Tatra mountains. I like this painting because of the green fields and blue water—I'd love to go there.

    ◇Japanese art is famous for landscape paintings. You can often see sea and sky, and mountains and trees, Ando Hiroshigo worked in the nineteenth century and he's one of Japan's most famous artists. He printed and sold thousands of beautiful prints in his lifetime. However, he was poor when he died.

    ◇Beatriz Milhazes is a Braziliann artist from Rio de Janeiro. She's famous for her colorful paintings of flowers and interesting shapes. She also makes sculptures with different types of natural and man-made materials. Personally, I like all her work, though I prefer her paintings.

    ◇Vincent van Gogh, the famous Dutch artist, made eleven paintings of sunflowers. They were his favourite paintings because he loved the color yellow. I prefer his other paintings, but many people love these ones. Nowadays, you see them on cards, postcards, and T-shirts. Van Gogh died with no money, but in 1987, someone bought the last sunflower painting for $49 million.

    Today I Ate a Rainbow is a useful game about our health. It makes eating a rainbow of fruit and vegetables fun for kids! In the game, the teachers or parents use a colourful rainbow chart(图表) and bright colourful magnets(磁铁). Children know about the fruit and vegetables they eat the whole day.

    “Sometimes it can be really difficult to get children to eat their fruit and vegetables. ”says Mrs. Welles. “My little son is weak, and he doesn't like fruit or vegetables. He likes to eat junk food. I think this chart can help him know about how much fruit and vegetables he eats every day. I'm sure the idea can work well.”

    Fruit and vegetables have vitamins(维生素), minerals (矿物质) and nutrients(营养物). Many nutrients give fruit and vegetables bright colours. The brighter, the better! The chart is made up of these important colours: red, orange, yellow and green. The different bright colours show the different nutrients that each fruit or vegetable has. So we can use the rainbow colours as a guide to know what we should eat today.

Music is good for us. According to the new study from the World Health Organization (WHO), music can us happier and healthier. For example, when I feel tired, listening to some classical music can helps me relax. When I'm , I prefer pop music full of hope and energy. It is easy for me to fall asleep with soft music. Some have found a fact - people who love music may live .

Near my neighborhood, a man and wife own a small music house with mood music(情调音乐). Teenagers like to spend time here while musicians are different kinds of music. Sometimes, we are lucky to hear some famous singers sing songs by themselves. The songs are beautiful that we sing along with them. We communicate with one another in this special language. The most moving music is Chinese folk music. It not only reminds us of the old days also brings us sweet memories.

Every one of us, rich or poor, young or old, may have at one favorite song. Music will be together with us forever.

If you could travel back in time and meet your mom before she had you, what would you do? This question is the idea behind Hi, Mom, one of themovies in China during the Spring Festival in 2021. The comedian Jia Ling  the play and directed it. She also played the role of Jia Xiaoling  it.

Li Huanying is the name of Jia Ling's mother, who passed away  Jia was just 19 years old. Jia Ling made the movie not because she wanted to be a director, but because she wanted to tell her mother's . "If people want to call up their mothers after seeing the film, I am happy," she said.

Do you enjoy listening to music? What kind of music do you love? Researchers at the University of Westminster have looked at 80 guests on the BBC radio show Desert Island Discs(《荒岛唱片》). The show invites celebrities like well-known actors and film stars to choose eight songs that they would take with them to a desert island. There are no people living on it.

The researchers found that half of the songs that were chosen were linked to important memories from when the show's guests were between the ages of 10 and 30. Catherine Loveday, who led the study, and other researchers call this time the "self-defining (自我定义)period", as they think it is when people develop their sense of self.

The study found that the most common reason (17%) guests had for choosing a song was that it reminded them of someone like a parent, partner or friend. The second most common reason(16. 2%) was that the song was connected to a period of time. The third most popular reason (12. 9%) was the song's connection to life-changing moments, like finding a partner or going to college.

Loveday said the songs people listen to when they are between 10 and 30 also often influence their taste in music for years to come.

The researchers are now working on a new study that lets people create and share their own Desert Island Discs experience. Through an online survey, people are asked to choose eight songs, a book, and one luxury(奢侈品)that they would take with them to a desert island.
